Alcohol and the Developing Brain

During Alcohol Awareness Month in April, the nation rallies together to bring awareness and increase the public understanding around alcoholism and alcohol-related issues. Local communities are encouraged to spread the word and help educate people about the treatment and prevention of alcoholism, especially when it comes to our youth.

Parents play an important role in helping our kids understand the impact, but schools, churches, and other organizations like CFMC should rally to bring awareness as well.

It’s worth the effort to educate our children on this subject because research shows that having the conversation with them and telling them about the dangers associated with alcohol and drug use can lower their chances of substance abuse by 50% compared to those who don’t have the conversation.

We’re sharing this video created by Ask, Listen, Learn with you to help you have the conversation and to help explain the effects alcohol has on a young one’s developing brain.
