Position Overview

Compassion Health Care is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Community Health Center team. This role provides safe, accurate, and clinically competent behavioral health care to patients and families while recognizing and responding to individual patient needs.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong clinical judgment, a collaborative spirit, and a deep commitment to compassion, integrity, excellence, and equity in care. This position plays a critical role in addressing behavioral health needs in a community-based setting and advancing equitable access to quality mental health services.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinically competent psychiatric and mental health care to patients across the lifespan
• Conduct psychiatric evaluations, assessments, and medication management
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to support integrated, patient-centered care
• Deliver care with sensitivity to cultural, social, and economic factors impacting patient health
• Promote equitable treatment by eliminating bias and embracing the diversity of patients, staff, and the community
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Adhere to all applicable clinical, regulatory, and organizational policies

Qualifications

• Completed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) program or Physician Assistant (PA) program
• Board certified
• Active, unrestricted North Carolina license
• Active DEA registration without restrictions
• Current BLS certification
• Strong work ethic, sound clinical judgment, and ability to work collaboratively

Schedule & Work Location

• Full-time position
• Monday-Friday schedule
• No holidays or weekends
• Hybrid remote with primary location in Yanceyville, NC
