What is colorectal cancer?

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is known by a couple of other names like “bowel cancer” and “colon cancer”. This type of cancer develops from the colon. The colon is the final part of the digestive system in the large intestine. It is considered to be an important plumbing system that removes waste products from the body.

Acute Flaccid Myelitis (AFM) cases are increasing. The AFM cases have been reported in 22 states, including North Carolina (1 case). Reports as of October 24th, 2018 state that of these 62 cases, 58 (94%) are in children.

A six-week “Living Healthy with Diabetes” workshop conducted by the Piedmont Triad Regional Council Area Agency on Aging was held at Caswell Family Medical Center in Yanceyville, NC recently. Adrienne Calhoun, Assistant Director of Caswell’s Area Agency on Aging headed up the workshop.
